Pounds and Inches: A New Approach to Obesity by A.T.W. Simeons, M.D.
This is the original book about the HCG Diet. It was written sometime around 1970. It was self-published and sent only to other physicians. It details the protocol for physicians and patients. It explains the rationale for the method and describes what results can be expected. Anyone considering the HCG Diet should read this document.
The HCG Dieter Gourmet Cookbook: Over 200 “Low Calorie” Recipes for the “HCG Phase” by Tammy Skye

There are recipes for soups, salads, dressings, marinades, vegetables, beef, chicken, seafood, beverages, and desserts. I used this book when planning and preparing almost all of my meals while following the very low calorie phase of the diet. It had a wide range of recipes utilizing the limited palette of the HCG Diet. I could have had something different at every single meal, and I came close to doing exactly that. I ended up using maybe half of the recipes in the book. The results were fabulous. The book went a long way toward making a potentially boring diet into an exciting and even adventurous one.

Dr. Atkins’ New Diet Revolution by Robert C. Atkins, M.D.

Dr. Atkins believed that the widespread dissemination of misinformation about what constitutes a healthy diet has caused the epidemic of weight gain in this country. Dr. Atkins’s diet is extremely low in carbohydrates. Consequently, this book is a great source of ideas about how to plan no sugar no starch meals for the stabilization phase of the HCG Diet. It includes advice on shopping, tips on how to make low-carbohydrate dieting easier at home and elsewhere, menus, and recipes. The book also details how to go about adding carbohydrates back into the diet once one’s goal is achieved.
